Family Trip to the Renaissance Festival!
Our family has gone to the Renaissance Festival many times over the years. It is a great place to spend time together ad see what life was like in the 16th century. If you have never been it is an experience you must have! The whole event is set up as a medieval town complete with the King’s Court, pleasure feast and entertainment.
This year is the 25th anniversary in the town of Fairhaven! As you as you walk through the gates you are greeted by characters who may or may not be residents of Fairhaven! Visitors are also encouraged to dress in the attire of the time period. There is a costume rental just before you go in. Walking through the town is a trip back in time. The people are just so friendly and entertaining that you can’t help but play along. We were not able to dress up this year. This is the first year for my 2 year old and of course the new baby. Next year I plan to have costumes for all!
One of the attractions that was newer to me (it has been a few years since my last visit) was the Dragon Tail Tower slide! I was wearing the baby so I didn’t ride but both girls did. Charlotte had the biggest smile when she got to the bottom.
All of the rides are “people powered”.. I love this because that means no electricity or batteries are used. The girls also got a ride on the giant rocking horse!
Of course my favorite part is the shopping! There are so many great things to buy. Fantastic jewelry, clothes, costumes accessories, decor and so much more! I also the artisan shops as well. You can see items being crafted right before your eyes!
Overall the experience at the Arizona Renaissance Festival is amazing. I already want to go back! My husband wanted me to point out the fact that the traffic control there is fantastic! The signage leading to the entrance is very clear and getting in and out of the event is so easy! We loved that there were police officers at both the entrance and exit as well as at several of the lighted intersections. They even control the lights! If it is getting backed up the officers manually override the light cycles to get more cars though the intersection.
The Festival is open weekends only though March 31st! You can get more information or buy tickets HERE.
I was given complementary passes to visit this establishment in order to facilitate this review. All opinions, experiences and photos are 100% mine.
