Baby Beduga Cloth Diaper Review & Giveaway 3/24 US

February 13, 2013

One thing I love to share with you all is my love for cloth diapers! It is an obsession that started when the toddler was 7 months old. Today I am bringing you a review and giveaway for Baby Beduga Cloth Diapers.

logoBaby Beduga is a home business, based in Pinedale, Wyoming. The owner is a mother of 2. She used disposable diapers with her first baby and felt that it was such a waste and was concerned about the chemicals in them as well. Baby Beduga diapers are her favorite and all that she uses on her own child.

Our Experience

The diaper we received was the Rarr Baby pocket diaper. This diaper is minky. There are 3 rise settings and 2 rows of waist snaps as well as cross over snaps on the tabs. Included with the diaper is one 3 layer, microfiber insert. This diaper was very nicely packaged and had a lovely ribbon tied around it. A nice touch!

The sizing of this diaper is great! Our newborn has pretty skinny legs, all of my kids did. So at first it didn’t fit him in the thigh. A baby with even slightly chubby thighs would fit great at 8 lbs. I would say an average newborn would fit in this diaper. Mine is obviously not “average”.

On a toddler I can see this diaper fitting all the way to potty training! It fits fabulously on our already potty trained 2 year old. I also must say that there is a lot of room to grow as well. With the Baby Beduga diaper on the Toddler there were still 2 snaps to grow on the bottom row and even more on the top row (since there are 2 top snaps on the tabs).

The elastic in this diaper is quite stretchy. The overall shape of the diaper is great. The crotch area is wide enough for larger hands to stuff the insert in. The pocket opening has elastic on both sides, which I love! Having a fully elastic opening keeps the insert from slipping out the back. The overall construction of this diaper is excellent.

The Toddler is potty trained so she didn’t get to test out the absorbency. The Newborn has worn this diaper several times without major leaks. Breastfeeding baby poop is quite runny and has a tendency to go straight up the back. I am happy to report that all was contained! At this point he is beginning to have more regular pees. By that I mean that he is holding it longer and therefore having diapers that are more wet. Because his legs are so thin, there is a bit of looseness on the thigh elastics. This caused the inner fabric was minimally exposed to his clothes. When his clothes touched the wet diaper it wicked up some of the wetness. Like I stated before, most babies are a bit more plump in the thigh than mine. This may not be an issue for you and has nothing to do with the quality of this diaper.

My whole experience with Baby Beduga has been wonderful. While I might hold off on using it on a newborn until 8-9 lbs, I would definitely recommend this diaper for any cloth diapering mom!

I think the fact that they are earth friendly helped me decide more bc that goes along with them being better for my daughter. Im willing to spend extra money to give her what is best and most natural so the money Im saving from cloth diapering is just an added plus

I started because it’s chemical free, and better for my baby’s bum.

I’m hoping to cloth diaper with my first baby, due in June. My motivation is both saving money and because it’s just better for my baby and the environment!

I have purchased 11 baby beduga diapers and LOVE them. They are soft and absorb so much!! They are also very easy to use and clean, just pop them in the washer and dryer!! My baby is 7 month now and we have been using them since he was 3 months. They do tend to leak a little when he is sleeping on his side due to the angel of his legs. I may need to just adjust the diaper for night time sleeping as he is starting to slim down due to crawling! I orignially purchased these because of the low price, but they are a quality diaper in my opinion and I don’t see how some of the other “brand name” diapers which are at least twice the price could be much better.

Generally my decisions are more influenced by money, but with cloth diapering, the Earth has been the deciding factor for me!
