Preparing For Baby Giveaway! Packing the Delivery Bag with Simply. Natural.
We are almost ready to have this baby! Since he is due any day now we are packing up our delivery bag. Some of the items in it that I want to share with you guys are from Simply. Natural.
I am going to be posting a full list of what to include in your bag when you go to the hospital to deliver. I’m hoping to figure out how to make it printable too. Some of the items I will be taking are from Simply. Natural.
During the laboring stages of your stay at the hospital your labor coach may help you relax with massage! Some moms love it and others will not want to be touched. You will need to judge for yourself if this is something you may want to include. If this is your first I would suggest packing it and not be surprised if it isn’t exactly your cup of tea. I can recall from my last birth experience wanting some counter pressure on my lower back during contractions. I had a bit of back labor and having someone massaging just above my tailbone was very helpful. I didn’t have massage oil that time but wished I had thought about it. Not only does the oil make it more comfortable for you but also for the person performing your massage.
Another item that got much use was lip balm! While at the hospital it is likely that they will not allow you to eat or even drink anything. The only thing I was allowed to have was crushed ice and popcicles. Not being able to drink could cause your whole mouth to be dry, including your lips. My lips are usually chapped anyway and having a lip balm already in my bag ensures that I won’t forget it. Because the last thing you’re thinking about when leaving the house is whether or not you have lip balm! You basically grab your bag and go!
For postpartum, Marnie sent me her Soothing. Mommy. Herbal Soaking Tea. There are 3 large tea bags filled with soothing and healing herbs that can be used a couple different ways. You can steep them in a sitz bath or you could make the tea and soak a towel or pad with the tea and use that to apply the tea to the tender areas.
The first thing I tried was the massage oil. Mostly because my daughter wanted to try it on me. She will be in the delivery room with me and may be my massage person. So she wanted to practice and I wasn’t going to object! I didn’t have her practice on my back though. She use the massage oil on my belly. The oil has a very delicate scent that is definitely relaxing! You can smell the aroma of lavender as well as the chamomile. One of the first things we noticed was that a little goes a long way! Just a few drops was all she needed to cover my entire (large) belly. It is an oil so it may leave your skin a little slick if it isn’t rubbed in thoroughly.
The body oil can be used for many other things like:
- Add a small amount to a bath for an extra moisturizing and relaxing soak!
- Hot oil hair treatment (I tried this too, and loved it)
- Instead of lotion
Ingredients: Sweet almond oil, Avocado oil, Safflower Oil, vitamin E, essential oils of: lavender, and chamomile.
The Relax. Body oil is super awesome and I recommend it to everyone for any reason!
The lip balm I was sent is Chamilla. This is a combination of chamomile and vanilla! This lip balm contains chamomile essential oil which is very soothing. There really isn’t much to say about a lip balm other than this may be one of my new favorites! I go through a lot of lip balms in the Arizona desert so that is really saying a lot. Other varieties include: Chocolate. Eruption., Ylang. Ylang., Cool. Off., Warm. Up. and Bubble. Up.
I haven’t tried the postpartum tea yet as I am still pregnant. I will be posting a follow up along with some of the other items that will be used at that time.
