Where have I been?

November 26, 2012

I feel like I have been in a fog for 2 weeks now! It seems that a stomach bug has hit our house! We each took our turn dealing with a nasty virus pretty much throughout Thanksgiving week! I have to warn that there is some slightly graphic descriptions in this story!

Prior to the start of Thanksgiving week, the “teen” came down with something that we thought was the flu. It started by her coming into my room at 4 in the morning to inform me that she had thrown up… and didn’t make it to the bathroom… or even off of her bed. She has a loft bed. It’s basically a bunk bed with a desk on the bottom bunk. Imagine dropping a water balloon from the roof. Yeah, it started like that! Her bout lasted about 3 days and included some other digestive symptoms requiring frequent trips to the bathroom as well as a fever that reached over 102 degrees.

We thought we were safe and that perhaps she would be the only one to get it. Hubby wouldn’t let me do anything to take care of her. He was willing to do everything for her to avoid me catching her illness. Being pregnant and sick is not a good combo! Amber was confined to her room until her fever and digestive issues had cleared. On that last day, the “toddler” threw up 4 times! Twice on the floor and twice on me!  Her turn only lasted a day or 2. She never got a fever like her sister and no other symptoms really, lucky girl!

That brings us to the day before Thanksgiving. When Mommy woke up at 3 am and threw up. I thought I was feeling good enough to travel and hour and a half to grandmas house for Thanksgiving dinner the next day. We got there and I pretty much laid on the couch watching football while Hubby helped make dinner and watched the toddler! I had a small plate of mashed potatoes and stuffing which I couldn’t eat. We returned home that night and woke up to Daddy throwing up at 3 am!

It had gone full circle and for some reason, the teen got it the worst. Nobody else got a fever. I’m sure it was NOT the flu. I am happy to report that we are all completely recovered!

THAT MEANS: I am playing catch up on my reviews for the Happy Holidays Giveaway as well as a couple other giveaways! I must apologize to my sponsors who have been waiting patiently to see what we thought about their products. I must also apologize to my readers for the upcoming overload to your inbox featuring those reviews 😉
