Blissful Bump Sponsor Spotlight: Daddy Scrubs

November 2, 2012

As we prepare for our big event we will begin sharing some of the amazing sponsors who are generously providing prizes for the Blissful Bump Giveaway Bash! This spotlight review is to share our experience with Daddy Scrubs.

I know we have been focused on Mom for this event but, what about Dad? Some people believe that Dad’s part in the process ended with conception. At least I know my husbands co-workers do. But Dad is going to be playing a key role in the delivery room as well! So why shouldn’t he be just as comfortable as the doctor? That is where Daddy Scrubs steps in! If you are looking for a unique daddy to be gift, then this is for you!

Here is a little bit about the founder of Daddy Scrubs from their site:

DaddyScrubs™ is the offspring of Robert Nickell, who fathered his first four children more than 20 years ago. DaddyScrubs™ was conceived when Robert, who remarried in 2007, discovered he was about to be a father all over again in the fall of 2009!

Not wanting to endure the pains of wearing uncomfortable street clothes while comforting his laboring wife, Robert hatched the idea of creating doctor-like scrubs for himself. It seemed a natural thing for him to do — since Robert is a pharmacist by profession.

To eliminate the confusion between “who’s the doctor” and “who’s the daddy,” Robert fashioned the concept of “I’m The Daddy™” medical scrubs.

Yes, Mom has to do the hard part! But who does she turn to for support? Daddy! Sometimes delivering a baby can be a lengthy process and sometimes it happens in the middle of the night. Daddy Scrubs are the perfect expectant fathers gift!

We have been able to review the Edgy style in Navy Blue! They are also available in a classic print in khaki and green.

My husband has worn them as pajamas to “break them in” since we have a little time before baby boy is due. He says they are exactly like hospital scrubs! (“because that’s what they are”, I told him) I did request a size larger than he normally wears for comfort as recommended when ordering and when he saw the pants he thought they would be too big. But the shirt is more what I was sizing for. The pants have a draw string to make them very adjustable so they fit well and he really liked that there was a pocket in the shirt! Everything fit very well so I would suggest ordering up a size!

The quality of the fabric is very nice. I would say they were a little stiff in the beginning but after washing they were much softer. My tip would be to wash them prior to packing them in the Labor Bag! The printing is great! There is no peeling or cracking its seems like it is more like an ink than a film if that makes sense.

I definitely recommend Daddy Scrubs for the daddy-to-be, whether for the first time or the 10th! Not only is this something to keep Daddy involved at recognized at the delivery but it would also make a great Father’s Day gift, or maybe even a great way to announce to Daddy that you are expecting!
